Another update from Veitnam

Having fun at the beach.

Took a water trip and did some snorkeling and met lots of fun people to hang out with two days ago.

Rented a motorbike yesterday, but got a flat tire at 15:00. Luckily I was a block from the hotel and walked it back. The fixit guy didn’t have time to buy another tire and change it, so I was out of luck. It was still worth the 80,000 D (€3.07) I paid because I left at 10:00 and had it til then and saw a lot in that time.

I’m returning to Saigon on 9 Jan by train – no more long tedious bus rides for me, though. I bought my train ticket yesterday for a ‘soft seat in a/c wagon’ for 173,000 D (€6.65). The bus is more
expensive and takes 3 hours longer than the 8 hour train ride.

Still having a great time and glad I’m not in cold and snowy Europe now.

The prices are so cheap. How could you go wrong? Everyone says Vietnam is a destination not to be missed. I will have to put it on our list.

Wow!

What a bargain.

It sounds like you’re having a good time, and as my hot water pipe has frozen for the second time this winter, I am wishing I was there instead of here.

Chris, get there soon before more and more people find out how great it is.

Adam, with all the traveling you do I’m surprised you haven’t come this far yet.
