Said in oral exams:

Student: ‘Rome is a eunuch city.’

The two other examiners and I control our urges to burst out laughing at her unfortunate, but funny pronunciation error.

After the exam:

J: ‘Bye the way, the word is pronounced ‘unique’. ‘Eunuch’ has a completely different meaning.’

I wonder if she went home, looked it up and laughed at her mistake?

Historically speaking, if you’ve seen History of the World, Part I, she’s somewhat correct.

lol adam

Over the years I’ve corrected some of Swiss husband’s mispronunciations/wrong words and later realized that I have come to miss them. At the moment the only one I can think of is pronouncing accelerator (like in the car) AKKcelerator but there have been others.
