Know what this is?
It’s something the US left behind at the end of a conflict last century.
And it’s been found resting comfortably while people walk over it and waiting for its time to come.
That’ll be this Sunday (which is also a holiday here) when an area 300 metres around it (affecting about 1,300 people) will be evacuated so it can be dismantled and removed.
Luckily, I’m outside of the evac area again – but just barely (I’m a 2 minute bike ride from the northwestern edge of it) this time.
At least it’s a ‘friendly’ bomb this time, unlike in August 2006
