Despite the opening ceremony of the Olympics being on Friday, the games actually start at 11 (CEDT) today.
I’m a big Olympic junkie, so that’s what I’ll be doing in my free time for the next couple weeks. Of course, since they’re in China that means I’ll be up at strange hours and completely destroy my sleeping pattern, but once every for years is fine for that.
Are there any other big Olympic fans out there?

Massive Olympic fan. I will also be destroying my sleep patterns. Which is perhaps odd because I have quite literally absolutely no interest whatsoever in any other sporting event of any kind.
During previous Olympics I have actually taken vacation time from work so I could obsessively watch every moment I possibly could, while also sitting with my laptop in order to find coverage on things not being shown on television. At least I do not need to take vacation anymore as I am “retired!”
We will have visitors next week, which will prevent me watching some of the coverage. But as soon as they have departed I will be glued to the television from that moment onwards!

I am a fan as well and during the Athens Olympics I was up at all hours. This time though I’m not watching, just a little personal protest I guess, not that anyone will notice…ciao

Also a huge fan, although, I apparantly have nothing on GL 
(I keep my vacation for travel.) I am glad my new job doesn’t start until September, so I can watch as much as I want now.
