Much to my surprise,

the answer was guessed very quickly. Jen was somehow able to figure out that that was the price of my ticket to Thailand this year. I’m going on frequent flier miles again and only have to pay airport taxes.

Frequent flier miles again? How on earth could that happen?

Thank the airline industry.

In 2006, airlines changes their frequent flier plans. It used to be that if you used an airline once every three years, your miles were extended another three years and you could potentially do this and extend them forever. However, in 2006 the airlines changed that and now miles do expire.

A few months ago, I was contacted by relatives who had a ridiculous amount of miles that had to be used by the end of Jan 2009 to find out if I wanted them. After making sure several times that the miles weren’t going to be used, I found and booked a flight to Thailand and paid the airport taxes of €41.49.

Also, I’m not going on no-name-crappy-baggage-forgetting airline, this year, I’m going on a five star airline.
