Injured

I’m off work for the rest of the week due to the leg/knee thing previously mentioned. Quite annoying, actually, because I’ll most likely have to cancel my Regensburg plans for this weekend – something I’ve been looking forward to since late last year - since I’m hobbling (at best) around.

I still don’t have internet access at home yet, so I won’t be online much either – I’ll be sitting at home with my leg elevated and putting ice and also some kind of cream on it. Fun fun fun.

However, yesterday I set a few posts to magically appear (like this one) in the coming days (thanks to a WordPress feature).

How will I be occupying my time?
• Reading a couple books I’ve borrowed from work;
• Sorting through my photos and finding ones I want for my walls;
• Finishing some blog posts and starting one or two that I’ve been meaning to make but haven’t had time for;
• Something else that’ll pop up later this week;
• Whatever else I can come up with that doesn’t require moving.

Be back soon.

Dude! That sucks!

I don’t know how serious the leg/knee thing is, but…honestly, skip the walking around and self-medicate with liquid bread at Alte Linde (hosted by my lovely wife) and distract yourself at the ballgames.

Regensburg is definitely kind to the pedestrian, but surely you could also get all the walking around in on a subsequent trip, right?

Ah well, if you have to cancel, you have to cancel. Bummer.

ouch!

I hope that you recover quickly…

I’m sorry! And even worse that you don’t have Internet yet. We just set the 26th for our internet turn on at the new apartment and I hope it actually happens- I am heavily dependent.

Get well soon, J! I hope it’s nothing that time and ice won’t fix.

That really sucks about having no internet. How long has it been now??

Cliff,

I live very far from Regensburg (near Bonn), so I want to see and do everything since it’s probably a one time trip for me. I’m improving, but am going to have to sit this one out and stay home with my leg elevated. I’ll come down for a Legionnaires’ game sometime in the future (probably next year since the season ends so early this year).

Adam, thanks.

G, thanks and good luck. I hope you didn’t sign up with Vodafone.

Christina, ice and some kind of cream seem to be working. Vodafone is 8 weeks late with my service.

I used to live near Bonn. Bornheim more specifically.

Take your time getting better. Regensburg’s been here 1900 years already; it’ll wait for you.

P.S. - it’s about 5 hours via ICE from Bonn Hbf to Regensburg Hbf if memory serves. So you could make a weekend trip out of it easily. Or hit Nürnberg and Münich and Regensburg all one one long (4 day, am Besten) weekend.
